After The Appalachian proved a successful restaurant venture, Compass and Chef David Rule partnered again to revitalize another Downtown building with a new concept, Trotter's Whole Hog BBQ. Locally-sourced hogs, culinary excellence, a beautiful building face lift and gut renovation, a casual vibe, and IPourIt self-serve beer taps make for a great meal and downtown experience.
Construction began on this building's revitalization in February of 2022, and the restaurant opened July 6, 2022.This renovation project & new concept began after Compass completed The Appalachian. During demolition, we uncovered the building's history as an auto parts dealer named Trotter's (shown in the photo to the right).
On Bruce Street in Downtown Sevierville, the restaurant stands out with its beautiful facade, windows that open to the streetscape, and rustic door. Compass won Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Beautification Awards for Historic Restoration and Signage in 2022.
Inside the restaurant, the rustic look, cement floors, IPourIt self-serve beer taps, original brick walls, and exposed duct work welcome customers looking for great barbecue, a unique restaurant, and a modern feel.
